    It’s an injoke from Metafilter. The first post on the site was to cat-scan.com (http://www.metafilter.com/19/CatScancom) and the original URL was recently bought by the site to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the site. They’ve recreated something like the original site: http://www.cat-scan.com/cat-scan/ and now there’s the tumblr, too.
